Blower Fan Switch Wiring
Medium high fan speed power lead.
Blower fan switch wiring. Video demonstrating the standard wiring for the primary blower motor found in most furnaces and air handlers in residential hvac. Blower fan wire color codes. This fan and limit control combines in one enclosure a fan switch with an adjustable differential which operates the blower in a forced warm air furnace and a limit switch with a fixed differential which automatically shuts off the burner if the furnace temperature exceeds a predetermined high point. Medium fan speed power lead.
Low fan speed power lead. The common terminal on the switch goes to ground and that is shown as a black wire. High fan speed power lead. Hope this helps a few folks out.
In my diagram current starts at a 60 amp fuse which will be under the hood and it will feed other systems. The blower motor capacitor mounts to the outside of the blower s housing. On yours the 12 volt goes right to the fan motor and from there to all the resistors then one of them is grounded by the switch. Constant voltage for the blower motor is maintained via a capacitor supplying voltage across its secondary winding.
The speed wires connected to the blower motor are connected to a fan relay which uses a low voltage signal to activate a high voltage switch. Get it as soon as thu jul 23.
